Destiny 2 Will Make Big Changes To Abilities In Season 15

Destiny 2's next season, Season 15, will arrive later this month, and Bungie's latest blog post has revealed sizeable changes coming to player characters' abilities with the content drop.

Bungie will essentially rebalance Titan, Warlock and Hunter abilities including Supers, grenades, class abilities and melee, which will "help set the stage for those larger systemic ability changes" coming in seasons beyond – lending perhaps some weight to speculation of a new damage type arriving with The Witch Queen.

For the full notes and changes, we'd recommend reading through the full patch notes, but it's not just abilities – core mechanics such as sliding will see changes, too, to make them less of an insta-win in the Crucible.

Bungie is also continuing to work on Stasis, now allowing players to break out when frozen in midair.

"Our philosophy for ability design is that abilities should complement the core combat of Destiny but not dominate it," the blog explains.

"It should enhance the game’s gunplay but not replace it."

Bungie will also be introducing the ability to bind multiple melee attacks to separate keys. At present, if your Hunter tries to throw a knife when the ability isn't ready, they'll punch thin air - potentially leaving players open to a counter.

Now, you'll be able to set your own bindings for your charged and uncharged melee abilities.

The blog comes following assistant game director Joe Blackburn's lengthy Twitter thread earlier this week discussing upcoming additions to PvP, including the potential for new maps and modes.

Destiny 2's Season 15 will be revealed later this month.
