Destiny 2: Assessing The 'Notepad Leak', 2 Months On

Destiny 2's Season 15 is just around the corner, but I wanted to take a look backwards to inform what could come next.

Earlier this year, a text dump revealed a wealth of information about Destiny 2's upcoming content, including Season of the Chosen, Season of the Splicer, Season 15 and Witch Queen. Lacking in veracity, the 'leak' was deemed baseless by many - we chose not to cover it because at best it's rife with spoilers, and at worst could be completely fictitious.

Still, looking back two seasons later, it's clear that there's plenty to unpack. It goes without saying, though, that there's a BIG SPOILER WARNING IN EFFECT.

Destiny 2: Assessing The 'Notepad Leak', 2 Months On

The leak itself (available through Reddit, and allegedly written about a week before Season of the Chosen) certainly has some elements that have panned out. For one, the talk about the arrival of Calus' daughter, Caiatl, was proven true in Season of the Chosen.

Tied to that are Salvager's Salvo, the ritual weapon for that season, a multi-targeting bow and a new Nessus Strike - Proving Grounds.

The leak also notes that Season 14 would focus on Mithrax and the Splicers, would put Wyverns in the Vault of Glass, add Vex Mythoclast, and even confirmed that the Solstice of Heroes armour wouldn't be cracked as it had been in the past.

Then there are smaller, but no less correct predictions - Heir Apparent's catalyst was available in Guardian Games, and the Vex did get a new colour variant.

It feels fairly likely we can expect that some of the predictions about Season 15 and beyond are true, too.

And again, there's that spoiler warning.

Still here? Ok.

Season 15 sounds like it could be Season of the Lost, and will bring back Mara, with a focus on the Dreaming City.

The leak also suggests Dreaming City weapons would get a refresh, but this actually happened earlier, in Season of the Splicer.

Guardians can seemingly expect Altar weapons to be added to the Pit of Heresy dungeon, and Prophecy is likely to get a bunch of new weapons, too.

As for Witch Queen and beyond, it sounds as though while Savathun will be part of the storyline, she won't be the final boss of the expansion's raid - which will be tougher than Deep Stone Crypt, apparently.

Instead, Savathun is holding Osiris hostage from the sounds of things, and she'll return him to the Vanguard if Guardians remove her Worm. Gross. Oh, and Eramis is returning at some point "soon", which is cool.

There's a lot more in the document, but it'll be interesting to see just how much of this comes to pass. We've had some Destiny leaks before, but this feels like a particularly momentous one if more is proven true in the coming weeks.

Oh, and one more thing - it sounds as though Bungie will potentially feature some Halo crossover content in Destiny 2. I'm trying not to get too excited, but it sounds as though players can expect the Halo Magnum from Combat Evolved, as well as some themed armour, which I am here for.
