Destiny 2 has really started to find its stride in the last few seasons, with Season of the Splicer teaming Guardians with the House of Light to take on the Vex following Season of the Chosen's clash with the Cabal.

We've seen plenty of narrative twists and turns, and with The Witch Queen expansion coming into view, it's clear the game is in a pretty good place.

Here's all we know about Season 15 of Destiny 2, which is confirmed to be called Season of the Lost.

Destiny 2 Season of the Lost Release Date

Season of the Splicer runs until August 24, which is when Season of the Lost begins.

What's interesting is that while seasons have traditionally run for three months, The Witch Queen isn't arriving until 2022 - suggesting that either we're due a very long season in the interim, or we'll get an extra one beforehand.

Expect to find out more in a new live stream.

Bungie has announced that they will hold an event on August 24 to reveal some exciting news about the future of Destiny. It's most likely related to The Witch Queen, but with all the story developments going on right now, which will likely lead directly into whatever happens in Witch Queen, you certainly don't want to miss this particular show.

Destiny 2 Season of the Lost Story

We've had a Vex-focused season and a Cabal-focused season, but Season of the Lost will bring back Mara Sov. It'll be interesting to see her interactions with her brother, with Uldren Sov now going by "Crow", and infused with the power of the Light.

Savathun, Destiny 2's next 'big bad', is likely to make her influence felt, with some rumours suggesting that she's already infiltrated the Tower.

In the last few months, we've heard Crow, Shaxx, Lakshmi-2, Osiris and more humming Savathun's song. In Season of the Splicer, it could be heard from the people of the city, too. In fact, the Vanguard is in a pretty strange place right now.

In fact, one lore piece suggests that Savathun is already inside the city, which means things could start barrelling toward The Witch Queen very quickly.

Will SIVA Return?

Many have been wondering if Season 15 will reintroduce SIVA, but we're not convinced. Here are our thoughts.

Destiny 2 Season of the Lost Content

Each season has added at least one new seasonal activity. Season of the Chosen's Battlegrounds were great fun, and Override and Expunge were added for Season of the Splicer.

We could get new Legend Lost Sectors on other destinations, and we'll also get more weekly challenges.

We also know that Bungie is introducing activity streaks for Vanguard activities, as well as a fresh reputation system.

Trials of Osiris is also said to be getting a revised rewards structure, working in tandem with a potential reputation refresh.

One rumour suggests that Bungie is testing destructible environments (thanks, Forbes). You can check it out below, with trees that can be destroyed:

Destiny 2 Crossplay

Hooray! Crossplay will arrive across all platforms in Season 15, meaning Guardians can all play together - whether they're on PlayStation, Xbox or PC.

In a new blog post, Bungie revealed that PvE will allow cross-play between all platforms (and Stadia!) but that PC gamers will be in their own matchmaking pool for PvP.

Find out more here, including developments on voice chat.

Destiny 2 Season of the Lost Roadmap

We haven't got the roadmap for the new season yet, but expect plenty of familiar events such as Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris, and likely the return of Festival of the Lost in time for Halloween.

Bungie has done a great job of rolling out content weekly, including story content, so expect regular updates. We're collecting all we know here.

Destiny 2 Season of the Lost Price

If you've got the deluxe version of Beyond Light, then you'll have access to all seasons heading into Witch Queen – that's seasons 13, 14 and 15.

If not, you can buy Season Passes with Silver. It works out at around £10, but plenty of content will be free for all players.

Destiny 2 Season of the Lost Season Pass

Destiny's Season Passes come in premium and free versions, but both will award players armour, engrams, materials and reputation boosters – but you'll get more in the premium track.

Stasis Weapons

Bungie has confirmed that more Stasis weapons, a la Cryosthesis, are coming.

Stasis will become a damage type just like Solar, Void and Arc, although this one is likely to be more controversial given Stasis' reputation since it arrived.

Exotics and Gear

Each season pass adds a new exotic, meaning it'll be available for redemption when purchasing the paid pass - or reaching tier 35 on the free pass.

Bungie has also been re-adding Destiny 1 exotics, like the Vex Mythoclast. It'll be interesting to see if any old favourites are about to make a comeback.

With the last blog post before the new season, Bungie has revealed a load of new weapons coming - as well as tuning to existing options.

The developer has also confirmed a change to Nightfall rotations. There will be eight weapons to earn, with one new weapon and one older one rotating in and out.

Bungie gave the example of one week offering The Comedian and Shadow Price, with the next offering Hothead and Hung Jury.

Ginsor, a longtime Destiny data miner, has shared a tweet saying "Thermobaric Greaves", suggesting a potential new piece of armour.

The only class that wears 'Greaves' are Titans, and Thermobaric suggests a Solar focus. Could we get a new Solar set of leg armour for Titans in the new Season?

We've rounded up all the new exotics here.

Sandbox Changes

Bungie has revealed plenty of tweaks to weapons, as well as how abilities will be getting a sizeable shakeup in Season 15, as well as custom melee ability bindings.

Destiny 2 Season of the Lost Trailer

The Season of the Lost trailer has been revealed during the Destiny 2 Showcase.

Mara Sov, Queen of the Awoken. It would be an understatement to say that much has transpired in her absence. Her brother, last seen lying in rest, walks among the Guardians wearing a new name; Xivu Arath’s forces rally in the shadow of the Black Fleet; and Savathûn has been revealed at the heart of the Endless Night.
