It's been only 24 hours since Corrupted Key Codes were introduced in Destiny 2. And just like any other new joinee, they've been able to stir up a storm within the community.

Before we go on and talk about how to get these Corrupted Key Codes, I'd like to tell you that these are new collectibles. Without these key codes, you won't be able to open the chest that spawns after you defeat a boss in the Expunge mission.

That being said, let's move on to the part where we talk about getting these collectibles.

How to get Corrupted Key Codes in Destiny 2?

Before we go ahead, these Corrupted Key Codes drop very rarely in Destiny 2. You need to be really patient with this one.

Reports from social media suggest that these collectibles drop from defeating enemies anywhere in the system, including Nightfalls and Gambits. I've received mine from a Nightfall mission, so I'm not really sure about the others. Since this is associated with Expunge, I'm guessing you'll receive it from the mission too.

I'm also guessing that you'll be able to hold only one Corrupted Key Code at a given time. However, this still needs some digging.

Once you've got yourself a Corrupted Key Code, head over to Expunge and start mowing down those mobs. Clear the smaller enemies first and then focus on melting the boss.

Once you've defeated the boss, you'll see a chest that spawns in the center of the room. Your newly acquired Corrupted Key Code will open this chest for you.

You'll receive some Decrypted Data from this along with some seasonal armor. The Decrypted Data will help you focus your Umbral Engrams, and also unlock those additional perks with the Splicer Servitor.

If you visit the Splicer Servitor now, you'll see the last column has opened up for you. These upgrades will buff the drops that you get from Expunge chests, provided you get the upgrades.

So there you have it, that's all about the Corrupted Key Codes for now.
