Death Stranding: Voice Actors and Cast

Death Stranding is still gaining new fans each day and when you look at the cast of complex characters, it isn't hard to see why. When playing through the game you may find yourself recognising the voices of some characters, whether it be protagonist Sam or the intelligent Fragile. We've put together a combination of some of the voice actors you'll find in the game including who plays Clifford Unger.

The entire cast of actors involved with Death Stranding is very long, so we've narrowed it down to a few of the more recognizable characters from the game. There are quite a few big names involved with the game:

Sam: Norman Reedus

The protagonist Sam is voiced by well-known actor Norman Reedus, you may recognise him as Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead. Also, he played Scud in the 2002 movie Blade II and he even appeared as Judas in Lady Gaga's music video for her song, of the same name. He's an actor with various credits and roles across a variety of platforms, so bringing Sam to life was clearly no problem for him. Reedus made a statement that sparked rumors that negotiations for number 2 may be in the works.

Higgs Monaghan: Troy Baker

Higgs is the anti-villain of Death Stranding and is voiced by Troy Baker. If that name sounds familiar then it's for a good reason as Troy has voiced a number of big characters across well-known franchises. Most notably he voiced Joel in The Last Of Us as well as Samuel Drake in Uncharted 4 and Magni in God Of War. Troy has lent his voice to a lot of memorable characters and Higgs is no different.

Clifford Unger - Mads Mikkelsen

Clifford, otherwise known as Cliff, is voiced by Mads Mikkelsen. Mikkelsen has a lot of acting credits to his name but one of the ones he is best known for is playing Dr. Hannibal Lecter in the TV Series Hannibal. If that doesn't ring a bell then he played the antagonist Kaecilius in Marvel's Dr. Strange movie. He voiced his Casino Royale character Le Chiffre in the Quantum Of Solace videogame. Mikkelsen has a lot of experience under his belt when it comes to acting and he definitely lent that to Cliff.

Mama - Margaret Qualley

Scientist and creator of the Chiral Network, Mama is a big character in Death Stranding and her voice actress is Margaret Qualley. Mama is the first time she has voiced a video game character but she's an experienced actress with over 20 acting credits. As well as starring as Pussycat in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, she played Mia in the 2017 Netflix Film Death Note.

Fragile - Léa Seydoux

The intelligent teleporter Fragile is voiced by the talented Léa Seydoux. You may know her better as Madeline in the 007 film Spectre. The French actress has also appeared in movies such as Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Midnight In Paris. Fragile is the first video game character she's lent her voice to but hopefully not the last.

Deadman - Jesse Corti

Deadman is an artificial human and although his body model was based on Guerllimo Del Toro, his voice actor is Jesse Corti. You may know Corti from a role that's more lighthearted but arguably iconic and that is the original LeFou from the Disney animation Beauty and The Beast. He also voiced Mr.Manchas in another Disney movie, Zootopia but this doesn't mean he's new to darker roles. His voice-acting credits for video games stretch over Metal Gear Solid games and Red Dead Redemption to name just a few.

Die-Hardman - Tommie Earl Jenkins

Tommie Earl Jenkins providing the voice for Die-Hardman is not the first time he's worked on a video game. He's voiced numerous characters for Fallout 76 and across a variety of Guild Wars 2 games. Death Stranding is the game he is probably the most well-known for being involved in as his work on the game involved one character, Die-Hardman. However, in 26 years of acting, he has many more titles under his belt.

Amelie - Emily O'Brien

Amelie is a complicated but key character in Death Stranding and needed a talented voice actress to bring her to life. Fortunately, her voice was found in Emily O'Brien who is a talented British actress with a lot of gaming titles under her belt. Most notably, she voiced Gamora in Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy: The Telltale Series. More recently she has voiced Mama in NieR: Reincarnation and has provided additional voices to Apex Legends.

There are many more key characters in Death Stranding as it's a large game with a variety of characters to meet and foes to beat. With over 50 hours of main gameplay to sink your teeth into, you'll have plenty of time to meet them all.
