Microsoft Surface Pro 8 Release Date
The Surface Pro 8 has officially launched and was announced at Microsoft's virtual Surface event, alongside other devices such as the Surface Laptop Studio and Surface Go 3.
Previously, Windows Central suggested the Surface Pro 8 could launch in the first half of 2021.
In January 2021, a public FCC filing for the Surface Pro 8 suggested an announcement was imminent. This of course did not turn out to be true.
The Surface Pro 8 has not been the only Microsoft product to launch in 2021, with October 21st being the release date for the Surface Duo 2, the brand's latest foldable phone.
Microsoft Surface Pro 8 Pre-Order Date
The Microsoft Surface Pro 8 was up for pre-order immediately after the conclusion of their September 22 event, and the device will be fully released on 28th October 2021 in the UK, and has been available in the USA since October 5th.
This also lines up with previous years, as pre-orders for the Surface Pro 7 first went live following the Microsoft event on October 2.
Microsoft Surface Pro 8 Price
Surface Pro pricing has remained fairly consistent since its launch, and this in part continues with the Surface Pro 8, apart from the fact the base model has had a bit of a price hike.
The base model, featuring an Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor alongside 8GB of RAM and 128GB SSD storage costs £999/$1099.99.
The different configurations based on RAM, storage and processing power lead up to the top model with its Core i7-1185G7, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD which clocks in at £2059.99 in the UK.
In the US, the top model offers the same processor and SSD but 32GB of RAM which costs $2599.99. These prices do exclude any accessories such as a type cover and a Microsoft Office 365 subscription.
