Pixel 6 vs. Pixel 6 Pro

The latest generation of the Mountain View-based firm's smartphone is shaping up to be one of their most exciting yet, but it can be a difficult decision to know which version of the phone to go for:

For most Android fans, the standard Google Pixel 6 will be a handy upgrade on their previous phone.

First and foremost, you'll find the latest version of Android, Android 12 present with Google's own smooth build that should run rather well on their own Tensor chip.

This new silicon is the real standout feature of both phones in the Pixel lineup, with it being Google's first in-house chip engineered with a distinct focus on its AI and machine learning capabilities.

Otherwise, on the front of a display, the Pixel 6 utilises a 6.4 inch AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate that should offer a rather fluid display indeed.

As for the camera, this looks to have been improved over the previous generation with a dual setup offering the combo of a 50MP wide sensor and a 12MP ultrawide. The last generation only had a single snapper, for reference.

Storage options here are also decent with either 128GB or 256GB available, marking one of the first instances of 256GB being available on a Pixel.

Google Pixel 6 Pro

It's at this point where things do get a little bit different in contrast to last year's models, as this marks the first instance in a good while of Google beefing up a sibling phone as opposed to offering a cheaper alternative. The Pro, fundamentally is a revamping of the older Pixel XL line.

What the Pixel 6 Pro brings to the table is, for starters, a bigger display at 6.71 inches (which gets rather close to pushing this onto our best Android tablets list) with a fluid refresh rate of 120Hz ensuring that this could be a capable phone for gaming, as well as general usage.

RAM capacity is also up to 12GB from 8GB on the standard model, and the Pro will also utilise Google's own Tensor chip for powering the internals.

Arguably the biggest improvements though come on the camera as the Pixel 6 Pro makes use of a triple camera setup, adding a 48MP telephoto lens to the already capable 50MP wide and 12MP ultrawide snappers available on the Pixel 6.
