We all know how much video games like to celebrate the holidays. Overwatch, Destiny, Call of Duty Warzone and many more big name titles love to do their own thing to bring a bit of Christmas cheer to their titles; And DayZ is no differnt. Once again we're expecting to see the return of the DayZ 'HoliDayZ' event as Bohemia Interactive attempts to bring some joy and festivties to the zombie-infested survival sandbox.

DayZ Update 1.15 is scheduled to release on 23 November 2021 and so far there's been no mention in the latest DayZ experimental patch notes about anything remotely Christmas related. That said, we know some sort of event is coming, so could we find out more when the next update drops and official patch notes are released? Hopefully. Either way, check back tomorrow afternoon for more details as we get them.
What does the DayZ Christmas Event Start?
In October Bohemia officially confirmed a few key details on the DayZ 2021 Roadmap.
This included a Halloween event, Update 1.15 and a Christmas event to round out the year. This was confirmed by Scotty, the PR & Brand manager for the game (Via DayZ Content Creator @Marks_1616).
However, for now the team have yet to confirm any hard details such as start dates for the Christmas event.
That said, if we were to assume that Bohemia Interactive sticks to the same schedule as last year, we expect that we'll see the event begin around December 17, before ending on January 10th 2022.
What Content Can We Expect For Christmas 2021 In DayZ?
Again, we've no hard details for now but we suspect the team won't deviate too much from what they did last year.
For those who didn't play in 2020, here's a brief overview of the changes made by the team:
- The event will be running on ALL stable severs. Mission will be shared with the community as well.
- You will be able to find Christmas-y features like giant Christmas tree in every major cities.
- Zombie Santa, Santa hat, and Santa Beard will spawn around the area of the trees and more.
- Gift boxes will spawn around the area of the Christmas trees with surprise goods inside
We'll be sure to update this page when we get more info on the event, but it's unlikely to be a while as we suspect we won't have more details until closer to the middle of December.
