While many PC games have a modding scene, CD Projekt Red has actively encouraged it with Cyberpunk 2077. Looking to give users their own tools for doing so, we've now got a virtual reality mod coming out in January, according to its creator.
Luke Ross, who previously created VR mods for Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, recently spoke with PC Gamer about his plans to develop a Cyberpunk 2077 VR mod, targeting a January 2022 release. According to Ross, the game is already "advantageous" and “very good for VR immersiveness” since it's played in first-person.
Cyberpunk 2077's VR Mod Should Release This January
Adding further, Ross commented on how often he can create mods now, especially with his current project being for Cyberpunk. He said:
"Now that my modding framework is approaching some level of maturity, I can probably release one game per month (on average). Of course, that depends on the specific challenges that each game poses, and there's always a possibility that a certain game turns out not to be moddable at all due to some unforeseen issues."
Following a controversial launch last December, Cyberpunk 2077 is approaching its first anniversary. Since then, CD Projekt Red's implemented a few major updates, which they'll continue fixing in the coming months.
