Original Story Follows:

Cyberpunk 2077 has only been out for a week now, but the release has been a nightmare for developers CD Projekt Red.

The backlash from players over the ample amount of bugs and glitches was only the beginning of an eventful week.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk have received the most backlash, as these versions have not been up to standards per players' expectations.

With players demanding refunds more and more as the days have gone by, Sony has made a drastic move.

Here's why they have removed the game from the PlayStation store.

Sony Pulls Cyberpunk 2077 From PlayStation Store Amid Player Backlash

Sony has made a new blog post detailing its decision to remove the game from their online store.

They have noted the following reasons:

SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store.  SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice.

Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund.  Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution.

This is a new step to halt the circulation of player backlash against the developers.

As in previous days, CD Projekt Red has noted the following via a Twitter post regarding their release on previous-gen consoles:

We would like to start by apologizing to you for not showing the game on base last-gen consoles before it premiered and, in consequence, not allowing you to make a more informed decision about your purchase. We should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

As of now, we do not know when Sony intends to add Cyberpunk 2077 back to its online store.

We can assume it will be before Christmas Day, and it is only a damage control measure for the time being.
