CD Projekt RED recently said it refused to hold Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen and Witcher 3 next-gen versions to hard timelines in case unexpected circumstances arose, and it seems they have. The studio announced it's delaying both updates until 2022 on the advice of those leading development. The news comes shortly after The Witcher 3's next-gen version was rated in Europe and the U.S.

For now, CDPR expects Cyberpunk 2077's next-gen version to release in the first quarter of 2022 (January through March) and The Witcher 3's next-gen version to launch in the second quarter. What effect, if any, this might have on Cyberpunk 2077 1.4 is unclear just yet.
