Cyberpunk 2077 - How long is it?

Cyberpunk 2077 got off to a pretty rocky start to life, but with the upcoming Phantom Liberty Expansion, players are as eager as ever to head back to Night City. So if you’re anything like us, and you just want to know everything you can about the hit title from CD Projekt Red, then we have all the information for you!

After The Witcher 3 and its couple hundred hours of content, people have come to expect CD Projekt Red games to take a long time to beat. So it looks as if Cyberpunk 2077 is no different, and the game is filled to the brim with content for fans!

So we take a look at how many hours the game will take to beat.

How long is the main story?

Senior quest designer Patrick Mills described the story length as being “slightly shorter than The Witcher 3.” According to estimates on HowLongToBeat.com, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt takes 50 hours to complete at a relatively leisurely pace.

But if you absolutely want to speed through, then you’re looking at nearer 30. So for Cyberpunk 2077, it appears as though 40-45 hours should allow you to complete the main storyline if you want to take your time.

However, the reason for this timeframe was apparently people found the story a bit too long and never actually got around to finishing it. Although, this could be due to the nearly 100 hours of content the rest of the game has to offer. As with most open-world games, it's entirely up to you how many hours you want to plug away at it.

How long are the Cyberpunk 2077 side quests?

So as per this tweet from Łukasz Babiel, QA Lead at CD Projekt Red, the full game clocks in at around 175 hours.

As a QA Lead, Babiel may be having to really take time exploring Cyberpunk, even now, searching for any bugs and issues. This would, therefore, naturally put it more in the slow-speed end of things, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have a nice benchmark. 

HowLongToBeat.com clocked 100%ing Witcher 3 at around 170 hours too, so the time is on par for other CD Projekt Red Games!
