The Witcher 3 launched in 2015 and received a variety of small DLC packs in the weeks following its release.

New customisation items for Geralt, new quests, alternative costumes for characters and even new Gwent cards were added. Then there were new finishing move animations, and a New Game Plus mode - phew.

While the Witcher 3 did eventually offer paid DLC, both the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions are larger than many full games. Given the fervour for Cyberpunk 2077, we wouldn't be surprised to see more expansion content, with multiplayer already expected after release.
