The Badlands, living up to its name, doesn't look like the friendliest region in Cyberpunk 2077.

However, it looks like an exciting area to explore and uncover.

CD Projekt RED has succeeded in creating an environment that directly contrasts with Night City.

The Badlands is perhaps a reminder of the consequences of development and progression.

All this technology and economic growth comes at a cost.

The region is an ecological disaster.

The area looks to be littered with oil and pollution with people living a nomadic existence.

Check out the Twitter post below that describes the Badlands as a region:

Sparsely populated by Nomads, the Badlands are the vast plains outside of the city proper. Unchecked resource extraction, burning oil fields, rampant pollution; this district makes Night City feel like a rich oasis. But it holds golden opportunities for those in the know. pic.twitter.com/4hGJ9SQVjq

Although the Badlands is a rundown region, the tweet states the region holds golden opportunities for those who know where to look.

This could suggest the presence of gang activity and lucrative businesses hiding out in the Badlands.

The region is outside the jurisdiction of the Night City authorities, so who knows what is happening there?

It has been confirmed that if you pick the Nomad life path, the Badlands will be where your story begins.

It's fair to say your character is going to be tough if they start in the Badlands.

Although the Badlands doesn't have the bright lights of the Night City, that's what makes it so special.

It's a product of the Night City's technological advancements.

Going from the Night City to the Badlands will be an exciting transition for players.

Let's hope we can meet some interesting characters in the Badlands that fit the aesthetic of the region
