Cyberpunk 2077 released back in December 2020, and though it doesn’t have an expansion at this moment, developers CD Projekt has confirmed the majority of their employees are now working on it.

Implying their long-term vision for the game, CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiciński gave his statement regarding the future of the game, as listened to by Video Games Chronicle in the H1 2021 earnings call. His statement reads:

“The next-gen version is an important step on our adventure in the Cyberpunk universe. We strongly believe in the long-term potential of this IP. That’s why we’re currently working on the first expansion for the game, although I cannot say anything for more about it at this point in time.”

Kiciński then specified that 160 people are ‘working on the first expansion for Cyberpunk.’ Elsewhere, 70 people are involved with their ‘unannounced projects.’ Though it seems Cyberpunk 2077 is currently one of their top priorities, Kiciński assured they're also keen on their other endeavours y for their other products, adding:

“In accordance with our promise to gamers, we intend to keep improving Cyberpunk for as long as it takes. Meanwhile, we do not lose sight of the bigger picture: we want to develop other products based on our franchises and to keep growing our core business.”

As for the game itself, it already had its first dose of DLC last month, which arrived alongside the biggest patch Cyberpunk 2077 received so far.
