Update: The announcement came in a Shiba blog post, bringing updates about the Shiba Inu metaverse, including details about burn mechanics.

Shiba holders look set to find out more about the Shiba Inu Metaverse - codenamed Shiberse - on March 30.

After a tweet from the official Shiba Inu account told holders to “Stay tuned for [a map] on March 30”, speculation remains high as to what could be announced. Further information on the Shiba Inu Lands and the Metaverse map seems likely. There are also rumours about an OpenSea listing.

Here’s what we know about the announcement so far.

Shiba Metaverse Announcement

Based on all the posts on Twitter and Discord, it seems the March 30 announcement could be a Medium post about the Shiba Inu metaverse, focused on the map and Lands sale.

In a Twitter post, the Shiba Inu account said: “ShibArmy, the world is full of things more powerful than us. But if you know how to catch a ride, you can go places.”

While the “catch a ride” element of the tweet could suggest yet another Shiba partnership, perhaps with a ridesharing or taxi company, further tweets from those related to the token suggest it will at least relate to the metaverse.

After the SHIB account posted, SHIB Informer tweeted a video about the metaverse, captioned: “Standby for more information.”

Shiba Growth member Milkshake also shared a GIF of a pixelated island. This further adds to the map emoji used in the original Tweet that suggests information could come out on the Shiba Lands sale.

We also know, as per Shiba Growth member Milkshake, the announcement will come through a Medium post. She said: “March 30th, A Very Special Medium Drop.” This will most likely be shared on the official ShibaSwap blog site.

We have also seen some speculation that the Land sale could happen with a listing on OpenSea. This follows images shared of waves and ocean in the LEASH channel of the Shiba Discord by staff members. However, this is not yet confirmed.
