SafeMoon is one of the most popular new cryptocurrencies of 2021, but can you buy the currency on the Coinbase or Binance exchanges?
Binance and Coinbase listings remain a coveted goal for new cryptocurrencies such as SafeMoon. However, it can take some time to achieve this. For example, Coinbase only listed Shiba Inu Coin in mid-June.
Here's a look at where to buy SafeMoon.
Is SafeMoon on Coinbase or Binance?
SafeMoon is not yet listed on Coinbase or Binance. However, the currency does hope it will achieve this in the future.
SafeMoon is still a relatively new cryptocurrency compared to others, having only launched in March 2021.
As explained in its roadmap, the SafeMoon team hope to begin a "community listing donation raise for several exchanges" in Q3 2021. As of July 21, this has not yet started.
A petition to 'Get Safemoon Listed On Coinbase' has currently gained 4,646 signatures.
It's likely SafeMoon - the 203rd-ranked cryptocurrency on CoinMarketCap - will eventually be listed on further exchanges. This is especially likely after Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong tweeted in June: "Our goal is to list *every* asset where it is legal to do so."
Where To Buy SafeMoon
If you don't particularly want to wait for a potential SafeMoon listing on Binance, Coinbase, or another exchange, there are alternative ways to buy SafeMoon.
To buy SafeMoon, you will need to use either PancakeSwap or BitMart.
PancakeSwap is Binance's Decentralized Exchange (DEX) and the largest Automated Market Maker (AMM) around.
To buy SafeMoon via PancakeSwap, you'll need to download a wallet compatible with the Binance Smart Chain, such as Trust Wallet. After this, you will need to purchase Binance Coin (BNB) via your wallet. You can then use this BNB on PancakeSwap to exchange for SafeMoon.
