Crash Bandicoot 4: Time Trials And Gems Confirmed In Latest Gameplay, Alongside Other Classic Features

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will launch this October, and will follow directly from the original Naughty Dog trilogy.

That's huge news for Crash fans and follows the excellent N Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing remasters of the last couple of years.

Thanks to a new video from IGN, we've know that Time Trials are returning, but we also know that the game will offer plenty of nostalgia.

Crash Bandicoot 4: Time Trial And Gems

As noted in the video, the telltale "Stopwatch" of a Time Trial can be found at the start of the level. This converts crates into bonus time to help complete levels within a time limit.

Speaking of crates, the total number that you smash is displayed just before leaving the level, meaning that Gems will be back.

Aside from classic "run towards the camera" sections, there's also a new danger to be found in the crates themselves - with a new one able to spit fire in multiple directions.

Finally, it actually looks as though we'll be able to take multiple paths through a level. This was something possible in certain areas of the original trilogy, but here we see Crash sliding across ropes in the air and completely missing out on a huge platforming section below. If nothing else, expect to play this particular level twice to get all the boxes!
