Xbox Series X First-Party Games Will Be Cross-Gen And Playable On Xbox One


Despite this year's scheduled Xbox Series X launch, Microsoft has reaffirmed its commitment to Xbox One owners.

When discussing the merger between Project xCloud and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in a recent blog post, the company confirmed their intention is not to "force" players into purchasing the next-gen system.

Xbox First-Party Titles Will Be Cross-Generation For A Couple of Years

“We want every Xbox player to play all the new games from Xbox Game Studios,” Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, explained.

“That’s why Xbox Game Studios titles we release in the next couple of years – like Halo Infinite – will be available and play great on Xbox Series X and Xbox One. We won’t force you to upgrade to Xbox Series X at launch to play Xbox exclusives.”
