UPDATE: Microsoft and EA have confirmed that EA Play will join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on November 10, the launch date of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

Original Story Follows:

Alongside the announcement that Xbox Series X will launch on November 10, Microsoft announced that EA Play will be added to Xbox Game Pass for no extra cost this holiday season.

The subscription, previously known as EA Access, offers early access to EA games, as well as an ever-expanding vault of older titles that are playable for free for members.

EA Play Added To Xbox Game Pass

In a new blog post, Microsoft explained:

"To provide even more value, we are teaming up with Electronic Arts to provide Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC members with an EA Play membership at no additional cost starting this holiday. This means Ultimate members can enjoy EA Play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Windows 10 PCs, and Xbox Game Pass for PC members get EA Play on Windows 10."

"In addition to the 100+ games in the Xbox Game Pass library today, Ultimate and PC members will be able to play more than 60 of EA’s biggest and best console and PC games like FIFA 20, Titanfall 2 and Need for Speed Heat, as well as titles from some of EA’s most popular franchises like Battlefield, Mass Effect, Skate, and The Sims. Some of the best EA Play games will also be available for Ultimate members to play on Android devices from the cloud at no additional cost."

Long referred to as the best deal in gaming, Xbox Game Pass on console and PC continues to get better.

Previously available for £20 per year, EA Play allows ten-hour trials of the likes of EA Sports UFC 4, Madden NFL 21 and FIFA 21 before release.

Unlike Game Pass, the EA Access vault doesn't rotate content out, it remains available for subscribers. That means that while current-gen titles like Battlefield V, Anthem, and Need for Speed: Heat are available, you can also hop into the likes of Dragon Age: Origins, the Mass Effect Trilogy, or Dead Space.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offers online multiplayer and a vast library of games for £10.99 a month, and has recently extended to PC, too.

With the addition of EA Play, fans will be able to jump into plenty of their favourite EA classics on PC.

Aside from its renaming, EA Play has also recently launched on Steam.

EA Play is also available on PlayStation 4.
