Will Zombies Be Included In COD 2021?

The hype surrounding the release of COD 2021 is slowly beginning to build after publisher Activision hosted its first quarterly conference call of 2021. The call was the first time any kind of official information surrounding COD 2021 was unveiled, much to the delight of fans.

During the call, Sledgehammer Games was officially confirmed as the lead developer of the game alongside Activision confirming that the game was still on track to release in Q4 of 2021 despite some reports claiming that the game had been cancelled altogether.

One topic that wasn't mentioned in the call was the potential return of Zombies, which has undergone a huge resurgence in popularity thanks to the release of Black Ops Cold War.

So, will Zombies feature in COD 2021?

Will COD 2021 Have Zombies?

So far, there have been no clues as to whether the undead will be appearing in COD 2021. Activision has mentioned that there will be a co-op mode included in the new release, but there was no mention of Zombies.

Sledgehammer Games has released its own take on Zombies in 2017s World War 2 but the mode fell short in comparison to Treyarch's iteration which has slowly transformed into a game of its own thanks to a lengthy storyline and Easter Eggs which have become synonymous with Call of Duty Zombies.

There is a chance that the undead will be featuring in COD 2021, but it is simply far too early to tell.

A Different Approach?

Although Zombies has proven time and time again that it is a hugely popular co-op mode in Call of Duty games, there's every chance Sledgehammer Games wants to try something different for its co-op experience.

Spec Ops from Modern Warfare 2 is regarded as the best co-op mode that isn't Zombies and a co-op mode of a similar nature could be a welcome alternative to the endless slaying of undead opponents.

With minimal intel on what Sledgehammer has in store for COD 2021, we're sure that if Zombies do or don't feature, the developer will do a great job in providing players with a gameplay experience that differs from single-player and multiplayer action.
