Call of Duty: Vanguard Xbox Series X Next-Gen Upgrades

Now that we know Call of Duty: Vanguard is the real deal, there’s a lot of anticipation for its release taking place on November 5th, and if this will be a traditional COD release or go with a full focus on multiplayer like its rival, Battlefield 2042, along with Xbox One owners hoping for Smart Delivery and an Xbox Series X Upgrade.

Information Vanguard platforms should be revealed soon, though questions about a single-player campaign or how it will affect Warzone will have to wait as fans continue to speculate about next-gen console performance and next-gen upgrades. If Black Ops Cold War is anything to go by, the community may already have an answer.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Xbox Series X Next-Gen Upgrades

Anyone who purchased Black Ops Cold War on PS4 or Xbox One had to pay $10 for the next-gen upgrade on PS5 and Xbox Series X respectively, so there’s very little chance that Activision will walk back on this decision for Call of Duty: Vanguard.

While it would be great to have a free Xbox Series X Upgrade for Call of Duty: Vanguard via Smart Delivery, that doesn’t seem likely so if you managed to get an Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S, don’t bother with the Xbox One copy.

Though last-gen/current-gen versions for Call of Duty: Vanguard haven’t been revealed, the lack of next-gen console availability likely ensures that this installment will be coming to Xbox One, hopefully running well, with a paid next-gen upgrade waiting for those planning to get an Xbox Series X eventually.

Call of Duty: Vanguard will launch on November 5th on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
