Activision Reveals First Call of Duty: Vanguard Trailer


After weeks of leaks, rumours, and speculation, Activision has officially revealed the first official cinematic trailer for Call of Duty: Vanguard, the next instalment in the storied first-person shooter franchise. The three-minute trailer provides a sneak-peek into four theatres of war featuring four characters.

Throughout the trailer, there is a big focus on the vehicles from World War 2, including fighter planes, aircraft carriers and tanks alongside a few brief appearances from a range of weaponry.

During the trailer, the four main protagonists of the single-player campaign:

  • Private Lucas Riggs, 20th Battalion, Australian 9th Infantry Division, British Eighth Army.
  • Sergeant Arthur Kingsley of the 9th Parachute Battalion, British Army.
  • Lieutenant Wade Jackson, Scouting Squadron Six, United States Navy.
  • Lieutenant Polina Petrova of the 138th Rifle Division, Red Army.

According to rumours, the campaign is set just after the end of World War 2, with the German Political Police known as the Gespato looking to regain control from the allies. Based on the trailer, Vanguard will be a gritty, dark depiction of war-torn areas from across the world.

Alongside the trailer, the release date was also confirmed. Vanguard will launch across all platforms on November 5th 2021.
