After months of speculation and leaks, Call of Duty: Vanguard has officially been revealed to the public, and after seeing the first cinematic trailer, players are wondering if it will have next-gen upgrades or a single-player campaign, but at least we know Vanguard's Setting.
The teaser trailer for Call of Duty: Vanguard made it clear that this title would be set in or around World War II, which is the opposite of its rival Battlefield: 2042, choosing to go to the far future, so it’s definitely a real setting unless zombies are involved.

Is the Call of Duty: Vanguard Setting Real?
Going back to World War 2 setting isn’t the worst idea out there, given how most shooters right now are set in modern or futuristic times, making Call of Duty: Vanguard seem fresh to the current FPS market.
While Activision did release Call of Duty: WW2 back in 2017, many saw that as a response to Battlefield 1, which proved to be the more popular title in the end, despite the number of players that still play WW2 to this day.
How Call of Duty: Vanguard’s setting will differentiate itself from Call of Duty: WW2 is going to be interesting, to say the least, though we can assume that the game will tackle different events from history that the 2017 game didn’t, which should be enough for players.
Either way, fans are excited to step into the boots of these soldiers and take part in cinematic battles with their friends online.
More information on Call of Duty: Vanguard will be released in the coming weeks before the full release of the game which takes place on November 5th.
