On September 7th, the Call of Duty community got their first look at the multiplayer for Call of Duty: Vanguard, the latest annual release in the storied first-person shooter franchise. Sledgehammer Games unveiled a huge amount of information, including details on new progression systems and the return of a hugely controversial feature from 2019's Modern Warfare.
When Vanguard launches on November 5th, there will be a total of 20 maps to play with 16 of them being available for 6v6 action. While it wasn't mentioned during the reveal, it has been revealed that two classic maps from Call of Duty: World at War will be returning as part of the map pool.
Dome And Castle In Vanguard
Call of Duty titles are no strangers to featuring upgraded versions of iconic maps that have previously appeared in older games. CharlieINTEL reported the news shortly after the worldwide multiplayer reveal had concluded.
The most recent game to feature classic maps was Black Ops Cold War, which contained a range of maps from previous Black Ops titles including Raid, Standoff, Rush, and Drive-In. It's unclear as to whether more maps from other games will appear in Vanguard but the additions of Castle and Dome will definitely prove popular for those looking to take a trip down memory lane.
