Castlevania Requiem Is Getting A Physical Release On PS4

Limited Run Games has announced Castlevania Requiem is getting a physical release on PS4. Though we've not seen a new game since 2014, Castlevania's Netflix adaptation gave it a new lease of life, recently concluding after four seasons. With a spin-off featuring Richter Belmont and Maria Renard confirmed, Limited Run are bringing back his adventures.

For the unfamiliar, Requiem is a compilation released back in 2018, featuring two games. Rondo of Blood starred Richter Belmont, who comes to Dracula’s castle after his girlfriend Annette gets kidnapped. Symphony of the Night is a direct sequel, taking place four years after Rondo and starred Dracula’s son, Alucard.

While Rondo of Blood featured a linear progression system, Symphony of the Night was the game which famously popularised the "Metroidvania" sub-genre, and both games are based off their PSP versions found in the Dracula X Chronicles. Physical pre-orders aren't up yet, but we've been told to expect more information soon.

Limited Run Games' E3 conference held a few further surprises for retro collectors. Announcing that a Turbografx-CD physical print is also coming for Rondo, Konami's Contra Anniversary Collection is getting a PS4 and Switch print too. In the meantime, you can still pick up LRG's previous Castlevania Anniversary Collection - also on Switch and PS4 - until June 27.
