The Dead Silence Field Upgrade in Warzone has often been a hot topic of conversation amongst the passionate community, and with Season 4 Reloaded in full swing, many players are stating that it is far too overpowered when activated on the streets of Verdansk or Rebirth Island. When activated, Dead Silence quietens all footstep audio along with a slight increase in movement speed, making it the perfect tool to sneak up behind some unsuspecting opposition.
Having revealed that potential counters to the Field Upgrade were in the works, Raven Software has outlined some of the changes that will give players a viable counter to Dead Silence for the very first time, much to the delight of players that have been craving new ways to deal with stealthy opponents.
Warzone Dead Silence Counters
Rather than adding a new piece of equipment that will allow players to hear any incoming footsteps covered by Dead Silence, the Warzone developer unveiled that changes to the High Alert Perk will be made which will enable players to hear any Dead Silence footsteps. This is certainly a smart move from Raven Software, which has made minimal changes to the Warzone Perk meta since the battle royale launched all the way back in March 2020. This change could well spark a huge change in which Perks players select as part of their loadouts.
Warzone New Perks
Alongside changes to High Alert to counter Dead Silence, Raven also revealed some news surrounding the addition of brand-new Perks, much to the excitement of players. "We are excited to share that we are planning the debut of two new Warzone-specific Perks," the developer unveiled in the Season 4 Reloaded patch notes.
Details on what the Perks will do weren't revealed but the news is a huge statement of intent from Raven as it looks to distance itself from Black Ops Cold War which was integrated into the game in late 2020. As soon as new intel on the new Warzone Perks is revealed, be sure to check back for all the latest information!
