Warzone Players Claim Playlist Updates Cater Towards Vanguard Royale

As attention slowly turns towards the arrival of Season 1 Reloaded for Warzone Pacific, several players have claimed that playlist updates for the popular battle royale are hindering their experience when dropping into Caldera and Rebirth Island. The most recent modification to the playlists was made on January 9th, 2022 amid a wealth of backlash from the community surrounding a range of bugs and glitches impacting the game.

While Raven Software is listening to feedback, recent changes to the available game modes have left some members of the community stating that they're forcing players to play the Vanguard Royale modes rather than standard battle royale.

The January 9th playlist update saw the following changes arrive to Warzone Pacific:

Vanguard Royale

  • Solos, Duos, and Trios

Vanguard Resurgence

  • Quads

Battle Royale

  • Quads

Plunder

  • Quads

Rebirth Island

  • Resurgence Trios

The changes to the playlists were met with widespread frustration, with Reddit user 'Nintendo_Pro_03' sharing their thoughts on the Warzone Subreddit. The issue stems from the game catering towards Vanguard Royale rather than being able to play the standard Battle Royale mode which contains weapons from Vanguard, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare.

The post quickly generated plenty of opinions, with one player stating that it's "frustrating to not be able to play regular BR trios, duos, or solo" matches. Vanguard Royale only features Vanguard weaponry, equipment, and vehicles, meaning players can't use other weapons from past titles that once dominated the meta. Players can still play the standard Battle Royale mode but only with a team of four.

Will Standard Warzone Battle Royale Playlists Return?

It's highly likely that Raven Software will add solos, duos, and trios for the standard Battle Royale mode in a future update but the likelihood of the modes being a permanent fixture is unlikely due to the weekly updates that add and remove a range of playlists in a bid to keep the game feeling fresh. Perhaps Warzone should have solos, duos, trios, and quads as permanent modes for standard BR and Vanguard Royale all of the time so players can get the best of both?
