Warzone Players Unhappy With the Animations in The Haunting Event

The Haunting event recently went live across Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, much to the excitement of the community that has been looking forward to Call of Duty's annual dose of spooky content. The event features a variety of challenges and animations including flashing lights, loud sounds, and jumpscares when opening Supply Boxes during a match.

However, Warzone players are not reacting well to the 'annoying' animations appearing as part of The Ghosts of Verdansk limited-time mode. Reddit User 'Uhbie' posted a video stating "Thank you Activision for making this very fun gamemode. These animations are not annoying at all." The player sarcastically wrote after their disappointing experience with The Haunting event animations.

The video showcases how the player is being chased by a flaming skull across their entire screen before they were eliminated without being able to spot the opponent that was shooting at them. The animation is one of the effects in the LTM that Raven Software mentioned earlier, but the developer did not warn that these animations would negatively impact gameplay.

Warzone pro Joseph 'JoeWo' Wohala who currently plays for NRG also encountered this game-breaking animation. The video was posted on his Twitter where the animation comes in right between his fight and then he instantly respawns as a ghost.

Raven Software did warn the players about these intrusive animations in The Haunting event and also stated in their patch notes that "this year’s iteration would set aside traditional competition for a true test of resolve amid fear.”

The Haunting event ends on November 2 in Warzone and It'll be interesting to see if Raven Software considers any suggestions from the Warzone players and make some fixes in their next edition of the event.
