Season 6 of Warzone and Black Ops Cold War is finally underway and as part of the last season of the Cold War game cycle, a huge amount of brand-new content has made its way into the battle royale and multiplayer. Alongside the returning Alex Mason, huge changes to the Verdansk map, and the launch of the Forsaken Zombies map, one of the new weapons is causing a stir amongst the community.
The Battle Axe is one of the newest melee weapons to appear in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War and players are expressing their frustrations on the unlock challenge required to unlock it.

Battle Axe Unlock Challenge
Having taken a look at the requirements needed to unlock the Battle Axe, Reddit user 'MurderGirraffe19' shared their thoughts on the somewhat elaborate challenge criteria. "I don't want the battle axe that much," they stated.
As the image above shows, the challenge needed to get your hands on the Battle Axe is to "get a kill with a gun, melee weapon, and piece of lethal equipment in 15 different completed matches," which is far from a straightforward process. Other players were quick to suggest that the complex nature of the challenge was a ploy to get players to purchase a store bundle where a Battle Axe blueprint can be earned. "They might as well have added "BUY OUR BUNDLE PLZ! at the end," one player commented.
Completing challenges to unlock weapons is nothing new in Call of Duty but this particular set of requirements has not gone down well with the community. Whether Treyarch and Raven Software decides to make the challenge a little easier remains to be seen.
