Modern Warfare Battle Royale: 5 Ways A Modern Warfare Battle Royale Can Improve On Blackout

Call of Duty fans are still waiting for official news about a Modern Warfare Battle Royale, which for now has been filled with rumours and speculation. And despite there being substantial evidence that it exists, we're still left in the dark about its future.

Blackout, Treyarch’s take on a Call of Duty battle royale mode, is still proving to be extremely popular within the community despite the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare back in October 2019.

With so much speculation about a Battle Royale arriving in Modern Warfare, plenty of players are drawing up their wishlist for a new one.

In this article, we list five things that can be improved and refined on a Modern Warfare battle royale game.

1) A Respawn System

Blackout does not have any form of respawn system like Fortnite and Apex Legends.

If rumours are anything to go by, the Modern Warfare Battle Royale will have some form of respawn system.

Players will have the ability to drop downed teammates near an ambulance.

They will then be transported to the Gulag where a 1v1 will take place against another player. The winner of the 1v1 will get a second chance in the game.

2) Damage Notification

On Blackout, there is no indication of how much damage a player deals when they are hitting an enemy with their bullets

Like the Destiny franchise, an indicator of how much damage is being dealt with each shot would be a welcome addition to a Call of Duty Battle Royale.

Adding more information allows players to make better decisions when it comes to deciding on whether to engage with an opponent.

3) More Seasonal Content

Treyarch still does a great job in adding new limited-time modes, changing the map and adding new content to Blackout.

Rumoured Modern Warfare Battle Royale developers Raven Software has the chance to go one better.

There is plenty of potential to provide frequent updates adding new items and content into the Modern Warfare Battle Royale.

There is definite scope to even add in real-time in-game events similar to Fortnite, where everyone gets into a game to watch a missile launch for example

4) Battle Royale Battle Pass

Season one on Modern Warfare is in full swing and the addition of the battle pass allows players to earn exclusive content while advancing through the 100 tiers of content.

If rumours are to be believed, the Modern Warfare Battle Royale is going to be free to play for everyone so adding a paid battle pass is definitely something that can happen.

Offering 100+ tiers of exclusive content will also add another incentive for players to carry on playing.

5) A Ranked Playlist

Last and by no means least is the potential to add a ranked playlist into the BR. Both Fortnite and Apex Legends have competitive playlists with their own ranking system so it is possible for CoD to have one.

Treyarch and Activision missed the boat with Blackout as an Esport.

Adding a competitive playlist with a dedicated ranking system could be the perfect way to revive a scene that offered so much potential when Black Ops 4 was released.
