Season 2 of Warzone and Vanguard is coming to an end. The second season of post-launch content for the Pacific era of the battle royale and Sledgehammer Games' latest offering added a wealth of new weapons to the arsenal alongside Snoop Dogg as a playable Operator in both games.
Alongside the Armaguerra 43, Whitley, and the KG M40 assault rifle, the fourth and final weapon mentioned on the Season 2 roadmap is the Ice Axe, a brand-new melee weapon capable of dealing devastating damage in close-range engagements.
As with most weapons, players must complete a challenge in order to get their hands on the Ice Axe. With that said, find out all there is to know about the melee weapon and how to unlock it in this guide.
How to Unlock Ice Axe Melee Weapon in Warzone
At the time of writing (April 21, 2022) the Ice Axe is unavailable in Warzone but as soon as it does make an appearance in the battle royale, we will update this guide with all of the requirements needed to unlock one of the more unique weapons in the arsenal.

How to Unlock Ice Axe in Vanguard
It may not be available in Warzone, you can unlock the Ice Axe within Vanguard multiplayer and zombies. For use in multiplayer, simply score three kills with a Throwing Knife in a single match 15 times. Scoring the kills with the knife is a relatively simple process but repeating it will take some time.
To complete it in multiplayer as fast as possible, we recommend jumping into a Shipment or Das Haus playlist for the perfect opportunities to get up close and personal with the opposition.
For zombies players, kill 50 Sturmkriegers with a melee weapon. Like the multiplayer challenge, it will take some time to complete quickly so be sure to keep your patience.
Is The Ice Axe Good in Vanguard?
The ability to eliminate an opponent in a single swipe is hugely important in fast-paced maps such as Shipment and Das Haus. It's fair to say that the Ice Axe is a one-trick-pony as it's only useful in close-quarters combat.
If you can build a loadout to maximise mobility and hurtle around the map at breakneck speed, you will achieve a high number of kills but if you're looking for something more versatile, it's best to utilise one of the many guns available within Vanguard.
