How Many People Play Call of Duty: Warzone in 2021?

Call of Duty: Warzone had its worldwide release on March 10, 2020. Since then, the game took the industry by storm as it emerged as one of the most popular games last year, closing 2020 with already 85 million players on a global scale.

The battle-royale game by Activision received generally positive reviews from critics, most especially its maps which were praised specifically by some.

Being a critically acclaimed title and at the same time a success in the mainstream is already a big achievement, but Warzone continues to set milestones, one of which truly cemented its popularity today.

So, let’s find out in this article how many people play Call of Duty: Warzone in 2021, and what is the milestone the game achieved recently.

How Many People Play Call of Duty: Warzone in 2021?

Statista has reported that during Call of Duty: Warzone’s first day of release, there were already six million players who downloaded the game. That was already a huge number, but it continued to grow as months passed by.

In August of 2020, the game reached 75 million players worldwide which was the game’s 5th month since it was released. And by the end of 2020, another 10 million players were added to the count in August, making it 85 million in total as 2021 approached.

Now, the game reached another milestone. In April after a year and a month since Warzone was released, the game has set a record of 100 million players worldwide. Undoubtedly, the surge of gamers was caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic which forced people to stay at home.

The continuous growth of the number of players not just happened in Warzone or in any other Call of Duty title, but in all video games in general. This rise is still expected by many to continue in 2021, with the pandemic still striking in most parts of the world.

Other Call of Duty: Warzone Milestones

There were some other Warzone milestones that were announced alongside the 100 million-player achievement.

Game developers Activision also revealed that there were already 28.8 billion Warzone matches, 26.4 billion deployed parachutes, 8.33 billion times players fought in the Gulag, and 8.01 billion revived teammates which are more than the Earth’s population as they declared.
