Call of Duty Season 2 kicked off yesterday, bringing all kinds of goodness like a Battle Pass, new game modes, and a new operator in the form of Modern Warfare 2's Ghost.

But there's more coming this season as the rumoured Battle Royale is finally making its way to players.

Of course, attention has already turned to the Battle Royale that has been rumoured to be coming to the game over the last few months, with recent tweets suggesting it could be coming sooner than anticipated and that it'll be known as Warzone.

With players already having shelled out for the game itself, as well as the new Battle Pass, along with Activision's reputation of putting profits first, you might be wondering how much the alleged 200-player Battle Royale is going to set you back.

So how much will it cost? Here are the details.

How Much Will Warzone Cost?

Of course, we don't know if the following is entirely true, but rumours suggest the mode will actually launch as a free update as part of Modern Warfare.

There's even a new "Classified" option in the main menu which suggests this might be right.

In fact, the size of the recent update suggests it could be ready to go shortly. On PS4, it's 51GB, on Xbox One it's 68GB and on PC it's 67GB – so could the Battle Royale already be on our systems now?

If you've got no interest in Modern Warfare outside of the Battle Royale mode, there's good news – or at least, positive rumours.

The mode will allegedly be launchable from within Modern Warfare but also as a standalone game simply called Call of Duty: Warzone. This will also apparently be free-to-play, meaning you'll be able to download the game on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

As we mentioned earlier, this could all be nonsense, but it'll certainly help Warzone compete with free-to-play titles like Apex Legends and Fortnite, as well as the cheaper PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
