How To Turn On FidelityFX CAS in Vanguard

FidelityFX Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (CAS) has been hyped up by gamers for quite some time. It's a software tool that allows you to sharpen and scale an image at the same time. Its algorithm, in essence, changes the amount of sharpening per pixel to get a uniform level of sharpness across an image.

Here’s how to enable FidelityFX CAS in Call of Duty Vanguard:

  • Go to Settings Menu
  • Click on the Graphics Tab
  • Scroll down to find the “FIDELITYFX CAS” option
  • Toggle it ON

With this turned on, sharpening is reduced in portions of the input image that are already sharp, and increased in places with less detail. This results in a more natural overall visual sharpness with fewer artifacts.

Does FidelityFX CAS Affect the Gameplay?

This is a simple setting provided in the game menu to enhance the overall image. This has no consequence on the campaign story or how the game plays out. If anything, it will result in a better player experience due to the sharper image quality.
