Will Call of Duty: Vanguard have offline play? It's a question with no solid answer just yet and plenty of room for error, given Activision's past.
Fortunately, we won't have too long to wait. A Warzone reveal gave the community their first chance to see the game in action and get an idea of what platforms Vanguard will launch for, among other things.
We'd be surprised if Activision didn't also make the game's offline and online modes more clear.
The developer hasn't been the most consistent with its online and offline modes in recent years.
Can I Play Call of Duty: Vanguard Offline?
Modern Warfare's 2019 reboot had a fully offline campaign, while Black Ops Cold War's PC version can only be played online, regardless of what you're doing.
Multiplayer will likely continue to be online, especially if Vanguard is more closely tied with Warzone, though whether the campaign is offline this time remains a mystery for now.
In July, the state of California sued Activision Blizzard for discrimination and harassment against employees. Numerous allegations emerged soon after from workers corroborating the initial accounts, while evidence of past workplace toxicity and abuse began surfacing online. Employees formed an informal organization and demanded a better response from management, though while some leading figures have departed in the scandal's wake, CEO Bobby Kotick has yet to formally acknowledge any of the allegations - including those from investors - and maintains wrongdoing will be investigated by third party group WilmerHale, a law firm known for anti-union activities.
