Light machine guns (LMG) are almost always dismissed when it comes to determining the best weapons to use in Call of Duty Vanguard. Although the mobility levels are far from ideal, LMGs are capable of packing a deadly punch in mid and long-distance duels, sometimes being able to defeat assault rifles. With Season 1 gaining traction, there's every chance the Type 11 makes an appearance in the metagame thanks to the impressive mobility.
The Type 11 has the highest mobility out of the four LMGs available in the Vanguard arsenal but its firepower does lack in some situations. How to Unlock
The Type 11 can be unlocked as soon as Level 37 is reached. It's one of the few remaining weapons to acquire before hitting Level 55 so use any Double XP Tokens to move through the ranks as fast as possible.
The Best Type 11 Attachments in Vanguard
Considering the mobility of the Type 11 was already strong without any attachments equipped, we focused on improving the levels of accuracy and damage range in order to create the ultimate mid-range menace.
- Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
- Optic: MK 3 Mod. 2 Sunfilter
- Underbarrel: Heavy Foregrip
- Magazine: 6.5mm Sakura 90 Round Drums
- Ammo Type: FMJ Rounds
- Rear Grip: Polymer Grip
- Proficiency: Brace
- Kit: Defender
This set of attachments is arguably the best combination to use on the Type 11 thanks to the aforementioned improvements to accuracy, making it incredibly easy to control at mid-range and long distances. The F8 Stabilizer features on numerous loadouts thanks to the small damage range improvement, and combined with the Heavy Foregrip, the LMG is perhaps the most stable weapon in the entire game.
The Best Type 11 Loadout in Vanguard
Once the attachments for the Type 11 have been selected, the rest of the loadout can be geared towards making the most of the LMG's surprisingly high levels of mobility. Ranging from the best Perks, Equipment, and Field Upgrades to use, building the best loadout is just as important as selecting the best attachments.
Perks
- Perk 1: Fortified
- Perk 2: Tracker
- Perk 3: Lightweight
Grenades flying around the map are a common sight in multiplayer, which is why Fortified is our first Perk. The extra resistance to explosives will allow you to stay in the action for prolonged periods of time while Tracker highlights any nearby footsteps. This allows you to track down the location of an enemy before decimating them with the Type 11.
The third and final Perk is Lightweight and continues to improve the movement speed that's already very high. With this Perk selected, the Type 11 feels more like a powerful assault rifle than a sluggish LMG.
Equipment
- Lethal: Gammon Bomb
- Tactical: Stim
This is my favourite combination of equipment to use in Vanguard multiplayer. The Gammon Bomb explodes as soon as it makes contact with anything, which is perfect for dealing even more damage to enemies attempting to take control of an objective. Stim is integral in most loadouts too. Use it to immediately regenerate health and get straight back into the action ready for another chance to score more kills.
Field Upgrade
- Armor Plates
Despite the slow refresh rate, Armor Plates are the best Field Upgrade to use alongside the Type 11. The ability to tank damage makes it very easy to withstand the offence of multiple opponents, giving you the perfect chance to score several kills in quick succession.

Is the Type 11 Good in Vanguard?
As the most agile LMG on offer, I think that the Type 11 is easily one of the very best in the entire category. With these attachments equipped, the LMG is very strong and stable in mid-range engagements. For an alternative to an assault rifle, use the LMG to make an impact during a match.
