The 1911 is one of many weapons available to unlock by increasing your level. Players will gain access to the pistol from Level 22, meaning it may be a while before some manage to get their hands on it. After testing its performance in regular multiplayer and Champion Hill, it's definitely worth the grind.

The Best 1911 Attachments in Vanguard

To maximise versatility, we are going to use all ten attachment slots that are available to utilise thanks to the Gunsmith. With this particular combination, there are few weapons that can defeat it in close and medium-range combat.

• Muzzle: F8 Stabilizer
• Barrel: Gracey Short No. 42
• Optic: Nydar Model 47
• Trigger Action: Lightweight Trigger
• Magazine: 9mm PARA 12 Round Mags
• Ammo Type: FMJ Rounds
• Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
• Kit: Quick
• Proficiency: Sleight of Hand

This combination of attachments provides drastic improvements across the board, including some additional long-range firepower. The F8 Stabilizer reduces recoil to more manageable levels while the combination of 12-Round Mags, FMJ Rounds, and Lightweight Trigger, makes it very easy to unload a barrage of gunfire onto an intended target.

Ghost manages to keep your location hidden from Spy Planes while moving around the map while Radar gives you the best possible chance to spot enemies thanks to the Perk revealing any unsuppressed gunfire.

For a further boost to mobility, Double Time is the way to go. With twice the amount of Tactical Sprint and increases to crouch movement speed, it's very easy to traverse the map with the 1911 in hand.

Equipment

• Lethal: MK2 Frag Grenade
• Tactical: Stim

To make the most of the 1911, getting up close and personal with the opposition is the key to success. Prior to entering an occupied building, throw a Frag Grenade through a window for some initial damage then finish anyone off with the pistol when you enter. If they put up a fight, use Stim to instantly regenerate some health in case another opponent attempts to score a kill.

Field Upgrade

• Goliath

This may seem a strange choice but the Goliath is ideal for dealing widespread damage. Drive the remote-controlled bomb into a congested area of the map, detonate it, and watch the score roll in!
