Sniper rifles have been a staple weapon category in several Call of Duty titles and as expected, a range of long-range weaponry appears in Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer. For players that prefer to sit back and pick off opposition from a distance, snipers are highly effective when it comes to eliminating enemies with a single bullet. As Season 1 begins, players may be looking towards the 3-Line Rifle as an alternative to the Kar98k.

The first sniper that's available to players in Vanguard is the 3-Line Rifle, a powerful bolt-action rifle that deals devastating amounts of damage from extremely long distances. Thanks to a few new additions to the Gunsmith, there is a range of attachments that can be equipped to further improve performance. 3-Line Rifle COD Vanguard

Even without any attachments equipped, the 3-Line Rifle is more than capable of taking down an enemy in a couple of bullets. Despite the immense power it possesses, the slow aim-down sight time combined with the sluggish mobility makes it difficult to reposition quickly especially when under fire from the opposition. Thankfully, certain attachments do improve mobility which does make the sniper much more versatile in situations where reaction times determine the winner of the gunfight.

Best 3-Line Rifle Vanguard Attachments

Even though there are a total of ten attachments to select, filling all of the slots actually impacts levels of performance negatively rather than positively, so we've only selected six. Here are the best 3-Line Rifle attachments to use in multiplayer:

• Barrel: 270MM Voz Carbine
• Stock: ZAC Custom MZ
• Rear Grip: Leather Grip
• Ammo Type: FMJ Rounds
• Proficiency: Awareness

This combination of attachments bolsters the 3-Line Rifle's aim-down sight speed alongside bullet velocity which is handy when attempting to take down an opponent that's utilising the thin wood or glass as cover. The selection of the Voz Carbine barrel and the MZ Stock provides some much-needed recoil control while the FMJ Rounds increase bullet penetration.

For Proficiency, we've selected Awareness which makes it much easier to spot enemies on maps such as Red Star and Hotel Royal where visibility is a real issue. As for the Kit, Deep Breath is essential to maintain high accuracy levels. The Kit enables players to hold their breath for longer periods of time which is ideal when patiently waiting for a player to stray into the crosshairs.

With the best attachments selected, it's time to take a look at Perk selection that can greatly improve your performance when using the 3-Line Rifle. Here are the best Perks to use with the powerful rifle:

• Perk 1: Ghost
• Perk 2: High Alert
• Perk 3: Overkill

Ghost is a must for any kind of Vanguard sniper loadout as it keeps your location concealed when moving while an enemy Spy Plane is in the air. Rather than selecting Radar, High Alert causes your vision to pulse when an enemy outside of your view has managed to spot you. When the light flashes, it's probably best to reposition. Lastly, we selected Overkill which allows you to equip two primary weapons in the same loadout. We recommend selecting an SMG to deal with any close-quarters engagements that come your way.

Equipment

• Lethal: MK2 Frag Grenade
• Tactical: M18 Smoke Grenade

Grenades are a great way to deal some extra damage and to clear out any vantage points that may have clocked your sniping location. The MK2 Frag is almost impossible to avoid when cooked to perfection while the M18 Smoke Grenade is the ideal tool to escape a sticky situation where the odds may seem stacked against you.

Field Upgrade

• Field Mic

When focus is firmly fixed on targets appearing in the distance, it can be very easy to lose track of any opponents that may have sliped through the net. Place a Field Mic close by to locate any nearby opponents that could bring an end to your sniping spree.
