The seasonal content model continues to prove popular with Call of Duty fans. Instead of paid DLC, the switch to seasonal updates packed with a wealth of free content ranging from new weapons to multiplayer maps. Although Modern Warfare 2 is still a few months away, attention is already turning towards the start of the first post-launch content season.
Modern Warfare 2 Season One is the first chance for Infinity Ward to apply any potential buffs, nerfs, and introduce new guns and maps to multiplayer.

Modern Warfare 2 Season One Start Date
At the time of writing (July 21, 2022) we don't know when Season One for Modern Warfare 2 will begin. However, we can take a guess thanks to the release times from Vanguard's seasonal updates.
The first season for Vanguard launched on December 8, 2021 but with Modern Warfare 2 releasing slightly earlier, there's a high chance of Season One starting in November. Once we have an official date, we will update the hub.

Modern Warfare 2 Pre-Season
Typically, there's a brief period between the launch of a Call of Duty title and the start of its first season. If Season One starts towards the end of November, players can expect a dose of pre-season content.
The update won't contain as much as the Season One update but the pre-season should bring a handful of new game modes into the game.
Modern Warfare 2 Season One Maps
There's a very high chance of the Season One update containing brand-new maps. There's also a possibility of classic battlegrounds from 2009's Modern Warfare 2 making a return.
With rumours of Highrise already circulating, the likes of Favela and Terminal might make an appearance which is certainly exciting news for those wanting to take a stroll down memory lane.
Modern Warfare 2 Season One Operators
In addition to maps and modes, new Operators will make their way to the game in Season One.
Currently, there are no indicators as to which characters will join the familiar faces of Task Force 141.
