As attention turns toward the launch of Modern Warfare 2, speculation surrounding the heavily-rumoured DMZ mode continues to pique the interest of players looking for an alternative to the campaign and multiplayer.

Inspired by Escape from Tarkov, a Try Hard Games report from Tom Henderson claims the mode will feature within Infinity Ward's upcoming release rather than a standalone title similarly to Warzone.

Although the developer hasn't shared information on what DMZ has to offer, a recent wave of leaks has unveiled a huge list of objectives ranging from hostage transportation to collecting Geiger counters.

Notable dataminer that goes by the name of "Reality" posted a range of files from within Warzone Mobile. It's unclear why strings for DMZ are within the mobile version of the battle royale, but they make for interesting reading.

As with most extraction games, players drop into the action to search for loot and complete various objectives. It appears this is the case with DMZ.

If Geiger counters are in DMZ, there's a high chance players will encounter radioactivity over the course of a match.

Although you should always take leaks with a pinch of salt, DMZ is sounding like an exciting prospect for the Call of Duty franchise.

If announced, fans of the shooter franchise will have single-player, multiplayer, a battle royale in the form of Warzone, Spec Ops, and DMZ which is plenty of variety for those looking to get their Call of Duty fix.

With rumours of the beta taking place in September, it won't be long before Infinity Ward begins sharing more intel on what it's working on.
