Call of Duty Leaker Claims Modern Warfare 2 Development Is Ahead of Schedule

The Call of Duty community is already turning its attention to what 2022 has to offer following the disappointing launch of Vanguard in late 2021. Despite the incoming arrival of Season 3, players continue to discover a range of bugs and glitches that impact gameplay.

2022 is expected to be a huge year for the franchise as Modern Warfare 2 is set to launch later in the year. With leaks surrounding audio improvements and a new Perk system doing the rounds, many are already looking forward to its launch.

The latest leak to emerge claims development of the game is ahead of schedule, implying an earlier release window could be on the cards.

Modern Warfare 2 Development

Following claims that a total of 11 studios are working on the sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare, notable leaker 'TheGhostOfHope' says Modern Warfare 2 is "months ahead of schedule." In addition, the leaker claims there's never been a Call of Duty "as far ahead" as Modern Warfare 2, much to the curiosity of the community.

Infinity Ward is leading the development of the game, while the other ten studios assist in other aspects including the heavily rumoured DMZ mode set to launch with at least four unique maps to create a standalone mode with its own storyline.

Modern Warfare 2 Release Date

If the development of Modern Warfare 2 is ahead of schedule, there's a possibility of the game launching earlier than its usual November release window. Current rumours point towards an October release date and judging by this latest leak, there's every chance we could see Modern Warfare 2 appear sooner than anticipated.
