ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle

Thanks to the high bullet velocity, the ZRG is extremely versatile thanks to its ability to score kills with just a single bullet with ease. Its sheer power means that it isn't necessary to sit towards the rear of the map patiently waiting for an opponent to stray into the crosshairs.

Although the ZRG packs a deadly punch, the relatively slow aim down sight speed and reload speed can make it extremely easy for players to get caught out by any aggressive players encroaching onto a specific location.

With the optimum combination of attachments equipped, the reload speed and ADS time can be improved, but is it capable of contending with the LW3 - Tundra?

ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle Best Attachments

After spending some time testing the sniper, here are the best attachments to be using:

  • Stabilizer 20 (Muzzle)
  • 39.3" Rapid Fire (Barrel)
  • Steady Aim Laser (Body)
  • Front Grip (Underbarrel)
  • 5 Rnd (Magazine)
  • SASR Jungle Wrap (Handle)
  • Marathon Pad (Stock)

This set of attachments provides improvements in sprint to fire time, ADS time, and overall mobility which allows players to get aggressive with the ZRG in hand.

The sniper comes with a built-in optic that's just as good as many of the sniper scopes included in the Optic category. This frees up an attachment slot allowing even more combinations to maximise performance.

Alternatives

If you prefer to select a different optic, we recommend using the Royal and Kross 4x in place of the front grip. This may impact recoil levels, but having an optic you're comfortable with can make scoring kills much easier. You may also enjoy trying out the ironsights if you're a really aggressive player!

Find yourself running out of ammo on a regular basis? Replace the 5 Rnd magazine with the STANAG 7 RND magazine for two additional bullets in the magazine and a bit more room for error if the first few shots miss the target.

It's also worth checking out the Serpent Wrap over the SASR Jungle Wrap if you're a quickscoper. The Jungle Wrap provides flinch resistance for oncoming enemy fire, but the Serpent Wrap adds an extra 2% ADS speed (in exchange for the loss in flinch resistance. This flinch resistance is only really valuable when aiming down sights at distance, so if you're finding you rarely are in those situations, we'd recommend the Serpent Wrap.

Secondary

1911

  • Muzzle Brake .45 APC (Muzzle)
  • 6.83" Extended (Barrel)
  • Steady Aim Laser (Body)
  • Fast Mag (Magazine)
  • Speed Tape (Handle)

The 1911 pistol is still one of the strongest secondary weapons to use in Black Ops Cold War thanks to its deadly damage output and semi-automatic firing mechanic.

It's the perfect weapon to fall back on in any close-quarters scenarios.

Lethal

  • Semtex

The Semtex is the lethal of choice thanks to its ability to stick to surfaces and other players. It can also be thrown faster than the Frag Grenade.

Tactical

  • Stun Grenade

Perfect for slowing the progress of an opponent, a well-timed stun grenade allows you to time your shot to perfection, guaranteeing an easy elimination.

Field Upgrade

  • Field Mic

Keeping eyes on your nearby surroundings can be especially tricky when using a sniper rifle and all of your focus is on long-distance targets.

Place a Field Mic close to you for a live image of any potential targets trying to score an easy kill for themselves.

Perks

  • Paranoia (Perk 1)
  • Assassin (Perk 2)
  • Ninja (Perk 3)

Paranoia takes your awareness to another level, enabling your vision to pulse when an enemy has clocked you when they're outside of your view. Assassin will also provide additional intel, revealing any opponents that are on a killstreak. Taking them down will earn you additional score, enabling you to acquire scorestreaks much faster than normal.

The third and final Perk is Ninja. Footsteps in Cold War can be heard from a fair distance away and is often the cause of being taken out by an opponent. By equipping Ninja, footstep audio is drastically reduced, allowing you to reposition to another location without alerting any unwanted attention.
