Black Ops Cold War's Larger Maps Will Offer 6v6 Variants

In the blog post, the devs discussed Cartel, a new map that will feature both 6v6 and 12v12 options depending on game modes.

"This lush map offers a variety of attack options for any play style, from the close-quarters interiors of the warehouse on one side to the shaded streams flanking the opposite end. If you’re feeling lucky, try holding down the central tower to snipe oncoming enemies, or take the stealth route through the foliage in the center lane."

"You’ll get to play both 6v6 and 12v12 modes on Cartel in the Beta, including Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, Combined Arms: Domination, and additional modes as the Beta continues throughout both weekends."

During the Alpha, we noted that some of the maps felt a little too large, so it's a huge relief to have smaller battlegrounds available. You can find our impressions here.

Thankfully, the maps from the Alpha, Crossroads and Armada, will offer smaller, 6v6 skirmishes, too.

If you're jumping in this weekend, the developers have promised a big step up from the Alpha.

Black Ops: Cold War featured heavily in the PS5 showcase we saw last month, but there may be some things that you missed.

We also know that the game's version of Warzone will still be set in Verdansk.

Then there's the seemingly inevitable Modern Warfare Season 7, which we've rounded up all the latest news for here.
