Season 6 of Black Ops Cold War is in full swing and as part of the final season of post-launch content, Treyarch has added a wealth of new weaponry into the arsenal, much to the excitement of the community. One of the new additions is the Grav, a brand-new assault rifle armed with a strong rate of fire and the fastest bullet velocity in its class.

While the combination of fast fire rate and bullet velocity can be strong, it causes often uncontrollable levels of recoil which can be difficult to allow players to excel in long-distance battles with the Grav in hand. With that said, attachment selection is the key in order to achieve success with this particular rifle. Find the best Grav attachments and the best Grav Cold War loadout to use in this guide!

How To Unlock

The Grav is one of two weapons that is included in the Season 6 Battle Pass, meaning it's a very straightforward process to unlock it. Reach Tier 31 of the Battle Pass to get your hands on the base version of the assault rifle.

Best Grav Cold War Attachments

After testing out a range of different attachments on the Grav, this particular build manages to tame the recoil along with providing a significant boost in mobility levels. Here are the best attachments to use:

• Muzzle: Infantry Compensator
• Optic: Microflex LED
• Barrel: 22.1" Reinforced Heavy
• Body: Tiger Team Spotlight
• Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip
• Magazine: RK-7 30 Rnd Conversion
• Handle: Airborne Pistol Grip
• Stock: Raider Stock

This selection of attachments is made possible by the Gunfighter Wildcard that enables you to select a total of eight attachments onto a single weapon to create the ultimate assault rifle build. Kicking things off is the Infantry Compensator which is essential to bring the recoil down to manageable levels. The combination of Reinforced Heavy Barrel and 30-round conversion further increases levels of damage, making the Grav a menace at every possible range.

For some extra mobility, the combination of Bruiser Grip, Pistol Grip, and Raider Stock, improves various elements including sprint-to-fire time, aim-down sight speed, and aim walking movement speed. With improved reaction time alongside the ability to move quickly while zoomed in, it's very easy to get the upper hand over any opposition that strays into the crosshair.

Best Grav Cold War Loadout

With the best set of attachments equipped and ready for battle, selecting the right combination of Perks, Field Upgrade, and Equipment can drastically improve versatility on the map. It's just as important as selecting attachments for the Grav.

Perks

• Perk 1: Flak Jacket
• Perk 2: Assassin
• Perk 3: Ninja

This Perk combination differs slightly from a combination that features frequently in the multiplayer meta but the changes perfectly complement the Grav and its characteristics. Flak Jacket provides much-needed resistance to any enemy lethal equipment likely to land in close proximity while Assassin can grant a scoring bonus when you eliminate a player on a killstreak.

The third and final Perk is a tricky choice but we went with Ninja rather than Ghost to suppress footstep audio, making navigating the map and getting behind enemy lines much easier.

Equipment

• Lethal: Frag Grenade
• Tactical: Stimshot

There are very few ways to avoid a perfectly cooked frag grenade, making it the best piece of lethal equipment to deal some additional damage. It's highly likely that you'll be in the heat of the battle with the Grav equipped, which is where the Stimshot comes into its own. Immediately begin health regeneration to stay in the action for a longer period of time.

Field Upgrade

• Trophy System

For a surefire way of avoiding any kind of equipment likely to head your way, place a Trophy System on the ground so it can protect you from any incoming projectiles. It's ideal when attempting to take control of a Domination flag where the opposition will throw anything and everything at you to stop the progression.

Wildcard

• Gunfighter

To utilise the full potential of the Grav, the Gunfighter Wildcard is the best to choose, giving you access to all eight attachment slots. With a wide range of attachments equipped, the Grav is certainly one of the strongest ARs to be using in multiplayer.

Is The Grav Good In Black Ops Cold War?

The short answer is yes, it's very good. Once you manage to master the recoil, I found myself excelling in mid-range engagements against other assault rifles and ambitious players attempting to score a kill with an SMG. Looking for an alternative to the Krik 6 or EM2? Try the Grav.
