Black Ops: Cold War’s PC Port Is Being Handled By Beenox

Up until recently, we’ve heard that the upcoming Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War is being developed primarily by Treyarch — the longtime studio behind the series — and Raven Software (Quake 4, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast).

Cold War PC Studio: Beenox

In a new email sent out by Activision Blizzard, Charlie Intel reports, we’ve learned that the PC port of Cold War is being handled by fellow Activision studio Beenox.

Most recently, Beenox has acted as a kind of support studio on projects ranging from Black Ops 4 and 2019’s Modern Warfare to the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remake and Crash Bandicoot 4. The developer also famously shipped a number of licensed Spider-Man titles.

“Lies, deception, and the looming threat of war surround you,” the email supposedly says. “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will reveal the truth in due time.”

In addition, Charlie Intel writes, the email also confirms that the PC version of Cold War will be another Blizzard Battle.net exclusive, as was the case with previous Call of Duty titles.

Release Date And World Reveal

Black Ops: Cold War is set to be revealed properly on August 26.

On a recent earnings call, Activision announced that the game will ship in 2020.
