Black Ops Cold War: Is There Skill-Based Matchmaking In Multiplayer?

The Alpha for Black Ops Cold War is finally here.

PS4 players have been jumping into the battlefield all weekend now.

However, some players have been rather vocal regarding skill-based matchmaking (SBMM).

But, is it in the game?

SBMM

Skill-based matchmaking has always been a controversial topic within the gaming community.

Titles such as Fortnite, and Modern Warfare all have it implemented.

In turn, it has made games a lot more competitive the better you are; but for some players, this is ruining the game for them

There have been multiple reports that SBMM is in the Call of Duty Alpha, but there has been no official statement on it.

ModernWarzone noted leaks in the past have signaled that Black Ops Cold War is going to have an emphasis on competitive more than Modern Warfare.

Is It In The Alpha?

As of now, we cannot confirm nor deny that SBMM is in the Black Ops Cold War Alpha.

Although the lobbies may feel more intense the better you perform, this is due to a variety of issues we can assume.

Keep in mind that the Alpha is only on PS4, which means there is a reduced player count.

So, there is a better chance you are going to run into skilled players each match.

But, it would not surprise us if there is SBMM!

We will have to wait and see what Treyarch says.
