As part of The Haunting event, players can get their hands on the LAPA, a brand-new SMG armed with a strong rate of fire and incredible levels of mobility.

How To Unlock The LAPA SMG

The only way to obtain the LAPA is by completing all nine challenges that are a part of The Haunting Halloween event. A full list of challenges can be found here. It's worth remembering that players only need to complete the challenges in either Cold War or Warzone to unlock the base version of the SMG.

Once you've unlocked the LAPA, it's time to turn our attention to the best LAPA Warzone attachments that will excel in any kind of close-range engagements in Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

The Best LAPA Warzone Attachments

After spending some time testing out a range of attachment combinations, we eventually discovered a combination that dominates the close-range gunfights as well as managing to contest engagements at further distances.

• Muzzle: Sound Suppressor
• Barrel: 7.9" Rifled
• Stock: SAS Combat Stock
• Magazine: STANAG 50 Rnd
• Underbarrel: Bruiser Grip

This particular combination of attachments focuses on maximising mobility to your advantage alongside slight improvements to bullet veloicty and damage. The combination of Sound Suppressor and Rifled Barrel increases bullet velocity and fire rate, making it very easy to break through armour and finish off an opponent.

For further improvements to mobility, the SAS Combat Stock and Bruiser Grip are essential when it comes to increasing movement speed when aiming down sights. The Bruiser Grip also improves hip-fire accuracy, meaning the LAPA can be effective in situations where there's no time to zoom in on a target. As with every Warzone loadout, a large magazine is the key to success, which is why we've selected the 50-round magazine to minimise the need to reload on a regular basis.

The Best LAPA Warzone Loadout

Once the attachments have been selected for the LAPA, the rest of the loadout is just as important in order to survive into the late stages of a Warzone match. Here are the best Perks and Equipment to be used.

Perks

• Perk 1: EOD
• Perk 2: Overkill
• Perk 3: Amped

This Perk combination has been the staple of Warzone for several seasons. EOD increases resistance to explosives while Overkill enables you to equip another primary weapon to improve versatility in all scenarios. The third and final Perk we chose is Amped. With an increase in weapon swap speed, you can equip the LAPA quickly to deal with any enemies in close proximity.

The Best LAPA Black Ops Cold War Attachments

Unlike Warzone, the LAPA performs slightly differently in Black Ops Cold War multiplayer. It's still incredibly strong in close and mid-range engagements but the combination of attachments differs slightly in order for you to dominate the opposition. Here are the best LAPA Cold War attachments to use:

• Muzzle: Sound Suppressor
• Barrel: 12.4" M03 Reinforced
• Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
• Magazine: STANAG 50 Rnd
• Handle: Airborne Elastic Wrap

While this set of attachments does hinder mobility levels, the increase in damage, fire rate, and control certainly compensates for the slight reduction in movement speed. The Sound Suppressor and M03 Reinforced drastically improve damage output, making it much easier to compete with other submachine gunners on the map. Due to the increase in fire rate, the 50-Round magazine is essential to minimise reloading and to kill enemies in quick succession.

The Best LAPA Black Ops Cold War Loadout

With numerous Perks, Equipment, and Field Upgrades to choose from, building the perfect loadout is just as important as selecting the best attachments for the LAPA. Here's the best loadout to complement the SMG perfectly.

• Perk 1: Flak Jacket / Tactical Mask
• Perk 2: Scavenger / Assassin
• Perk 3: Ghost / Ninja

Thanks to the Perk Greed Wildcard, you can choose six Perks to use. Flak Jacket and Tactical Mask provide much-needed resistance to lethal and tactical equipment while Scavenger and Assassin allows you to resupply ammunition and the chance to earn some additional score by taking down players on a killstreak.

The last two Perks we chose are Ghost and Ninja. Ghost conceals your location from Spy Planes when moving around the map along with Ninja which muffles footstep audio, making it very easy to sneak behind enemy lines.

Field Upgrade

• Field Mic

The Field Mic is the perfect tool for increasing your awareness of the surrounding area during a multiplayer match. Place it in a corner or hide it in amongst some foliage for a clear picture of any opponents that appear in the nearby area.
