Heading into the event as defending Major champions, the FaZe kicked off their campaign with a convincing 3-0 sweep of the Minnesota ROKKR to set up a winner's bracket final clash with the Toronto Ultra, the team that managed to usurp them in the finals of the Stage 2 Major.

While the Ultra did manage to score a map victory, it wasn't enough to stop the FaZe from making yet another appearance in the Grand Finals. A 3-1 victory over Toronto all but cemented their position as the very best team in the CDL and with the chance of winning a third Major of the season on the horizon, it could be considered that this Atlanta team is one of the very best teams that has ever competed in professional Call of Duty.

A Duel Against Dallas

Scoring another Major win wouldn't be straightforward for Atlanta. The FaZe would do battle with a Dallas Empire squad fresh from dispatching Toronto in the loser's bracket finals. Could they make the empire fall once again?

Dallas drew first blood in a hard-fought Garrison Hardpoint to take the early series lead but the FaZe responded well, winning game two and three to retake the lead. The Empire wasn't done yet. Another two map victories gave Dallas a 3-2 lead heading into game six which went down to a fifth and final Control round. The FaZe clutched up to take the win to level the series at 3-3.

Led by North American veteran Ian "Crimsix" Porter, Dallas bounced back with a clinical 6-1 victory on Express Search & Destroy to secure championship point but just when it looked like the Empire was going to seal the deal, Atlanta sent them into the 100-point club to send the series to a ninth and final map.

The early stages of Raid S&D were back and forth between the two juggernauts but Atlanta managed to break away to secure a 6-4 win and their third Major victory of the season. Can anyone stop the FaZe from winning?

The Final Stage

Up next in the 2021 CDL calendar is the fifth and finals stage of the regular season of competition. With just three spots in the playoff places up for grabs, which teams are going to book their places in the Playoffs? Can anyone overcome Atlanta? We will have to wait and see!
