Since the introduction of Operators as part of the 2019 reboot of the Modern Warfare series, the character arsenal has become an integral part of the Call of Duty franchise, especially in Season 2 of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.
The latest season has seen a total of 2 new Operators arrive in the form of Samantha Maxis and Naga, while Season 2 Reloaded will see the launch of Rigas and Wolf Operators as separate bundles that will be available to purchase from the in-game store.
As focus begins to turn to the launch of Season 3, new discoveries within the files of the game have suggested that a Black Ops legend will be arriving.
Here’s everything we know about Alex Mason joining the arsenal of Operators.
Alex Mason Operator Season 3
According to notable leaker @WarzoneNewz, voice lines for Mason have been found within the files of the game, implying that his release is imminent.
It’s surprising that it has taken such a lengthy period of time before any clues surrounding the release of Mason have been found. Widely regarded as the main protagonist of the early Black Ops titles, Mason and the numbers have become Call of Duty folklore.
Alex Mason Operator Release Date
If rumours are to be believed, Mason will be making his Black Ops Cold War and Warzone debut as part Season 3’s launch content expected to go live on April 22nd once Season 2 Reloaded has come to an end.
Mason isn’t the first iconic Black Ops character to arrive in Cold War or Warzone.
When Black Ops Cold War was first revealed, Frank Woods became a playable Operator in Modern Warfare and the battle royale thanks to a pre-order bonus.
Considering the events of the Black Ops Cold War storyline, Mason could well be on his way to rescue Adler from the clutches of Stitch who both arrived in Verdansk at the start of Season 2.
